Gmail may be accidentally deleting emails from Gmail accounts

Well, I assume its accidental anyway 😉

Reports indicate that many users of Google’s web based email service Gmail have been been unable to access their accounts recently. Google has issued an official statement estimating a little under 1% of users are effected, but is being very vague as to how many accounts have actually been effected, and how many have already been fixed (Google says about one third of accounts have been brought back up). The official statement is “Google Mail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change.”

I didn’t realize Google gave a time frame to expect a fix in that statement. If you read the Nexus One story, you would know that Google has said the Nexus One would get the Gingerbread update in the near future. Based on that, “the near future” could be 3 months, or even more. However, I seriously doubt it will be much more than a couple of days, I’m just being mean :P.
